Course is very comprehensive (good mix of theory with lots of practice), instructors (Kirill & Tim) very professional & knowledgeable and always happy to give feedback & tips.
Manta trip brought us to very different spots, all great, with mantas & healthy reefs (Nusa Penida reefs were better than expected, compared to other spots around Bali & Lombok).
Overall everything was well organised, easy going & super enjoyable! read less

We did a bit of dry practicing and then open-water dive after which I got my answers. I was guided by Kirill who is knowledgeable and quickly understands the reasons of the issue. On returning back we did some analysis and I got recommendations and exercises. That was a really professional approach so I recommend anybody to do training with these guys. It was an unbelievable experience I think about everyday. Kirill was an inspiring teacher, his teaching methods, calm, safe and poised personality and the fact that he really loves freediving made learning freediving easy and so fun.

My experience at Freedive Nusa has opened a door to a deeper love and appreciation of the ocean and our connection to it. Extending beyond freediving to pranayama, more confidence in my surfing, yoga and power of the mind. This course is for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and the human body. The moment I saw our friends freediving happily, I knew I wanted to feel as calm and free under water, as they did.
So I took the course and I am more than happy. Now I can hold my breath without panic nor discomfort, whilst studying the wonderful underwater world. And I've never been so relaxed and happy in the water before.
My gratitude to the instructors is immeasurable. That was a breathtaking experience. I felt confident and safe during the whole process.
School is well equipped and cosy, situated close to the beach and nice cafes for the lunch break. There's a plenty of accomodation options around.
Not to mention the surroundings are truly beautiful. Home reef with a huge variety of fishes, turtles and other creatures. Endless opportunities to explore the deep blue. read less

I'd actually done this certification before at a world renowned school in Central America but I decided to do it again as I have issues with equalisation. I got so much more out of this course taught by our amazing instructor Heiko. We got two full days of training in which we covered so much including 4 practical sessions, 2 in the pool and 2 in the open water. I loved getting to practice things I was never shown on my first course, like a static breath hold and an introduction to the dynamic discipline. Heiko was extremely knowledgable, patient and supportive. I really felt like we each got such a tailored training. He treated us each as individuals and adjusted the training to our needs and abilities. It really helped us get the most out of every dive and have the best experience. My 13 year old son and I did the SSI Level I Freediving course with Freedive Nusa, and the team... read moreMy 13 year old son and I did the SSI Level I Freediving course with Freedive Nusa, and the team was as professional as I’ve seen. Our instructor, Heiko, and Arthur (who joined to help in some of the ocean sessions) knew their stuff and upheld the highest of standards throughout. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my son in their hands. Heiko taught us the ins and outs of freediving and balanced it with a lot of practical sessions in the ocean (that was right across the street).
Nusa Penida’s tourism has only recently picked up and consequently it has that perfect balance of just the right amount of infrastructure (restaurants, hotels/homestays, scooter rentals, etc) without all the unfortunate destruction that tourism often brings. We saw some of the most beautiful, untouched coral reefs that I’ve seen around the world.
I highly recommend anyone that’s comfortable in the water to take a couple of days to take “the next step in”, or at least join them on a day trip. Good, good stuff! read less
