From the beginning... read moreI had a very nice experience taking my level 1 SSI Free diving Course with Freedivenusa. From the beginning communication was always easy. They gave fast response whether it was through Instagram or through their email.
The course itself is a bit challenging for me who understand from begin that I have a bit of equalization problem and a fear to hold breath longer. However, Artur was a kind and patient instructor. His explanation is clear, helpful, and reassuring. Not to mention his state of calmness that made me feel at ease while in the same time also excited to try whatever he asked me to do. He didn’t push me to force myself, yet very persuasive in convincing that all will be well, and all I need to do is just relax, enjoy, and be natural in the water. Which I find to be a more effective method to get me to improve.
The school itself is located strategically, close to a few good restaurants and homestays to relax during your break. It is also a beautiful location; 30 seconds walk to the beach with beautiful snorkeling just a short swim away. The school provides well-maintained good-quality free diving equipment and a cozy setting to support the learning environment. All Freedivenusa instructors are highly experienced and professional who would make you feel that you are in good hands.
All in all, I felt very safe and well-taken care of by the school, and by Artur specifically as my instructor. The course has helped me gain confidence to push myself out of my fear in going deeper in to the deep blue by free diving. I’m totally hooked! And will keep the practice.
So, if you are thinking to do free diving in Indonesia, I highly recommend coming to Nusa Penida and do it with Freedivenusa! read less

It was an unbelievable experience I think about everyday. Kirill was an inspiring teacher, his teaching methods, calm, safe and poised personality and the fact that he really loves freediving made learning freediving easy and so fun.

My experience at Freedive Nusa has opened a door to a deeper love and appreciation of the ocean and our connection to it. Extending beyond freediving to pranayama, more confidence in my surfing, yoga and power of the mind. This course is for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and the human body. Freedive Nusa made me feel at ease and worked within my limited walking ability due to serious injury and this made the experience even more amazing. Freedive Nusa is perfectly located and use fantastic, helpful boat drivers and provide a fantastic trip to snorkel with mantas as well :) I will be back for sure! Highly recommend read less

I had taken a free diving course nearly 5 years prior and decided to refresh my skills. The shop gave me a great rate for a private course with Yana and the experience exceeded all of my expectations. She was able to quickly determine my knowledge and skill level and tailored my education to maximize learning. She was able to break down very complicated subjects (physiology, Frenzel, etc) in an easy-to-understand way. She seemed to know my limits better than I knew myself - she (safely) pushed me both in the pool and open water sessions to new PRs. I loved the breathing exercises and yoga before the water sessions; I felt totally relaxed and ready to perform at my best. Although I worked specifically with Yana, I observed several of the other instructors and they were all clearly passionate about freediving and took very good care of their students. Absolutely loved using the freediving skills I just learned to snorkel the reef after our sessions. Overall, I left the class not only with new skills but a new outlook on how to enjoy the ocean. Most importantly, I always felt safe which is a big mental barrier for novices like myself. The shop was professional and perfectly located. Highly recommend the offered photo session at the end of the class - I loved the photos! Not that numbers matter but I was able to comfortably reach 20m by the end of the class which was a personal goal I had set. read less

They are incredible at every single step of organising beautiful experiences during each day of our trip. The itinerary was planned very well, we saw the best places (even those that other tours don’t take you) and had time to rest in between. The food was fantastic on the boat.

I didn’t train after Wave 1 course, but it was very easy for me to complete Wave 2 course due to the team providing me support on each step, setting me up for success with clear guidance and constantly providing feedback how to improve my performance.

If I continue my free diving training, I will definitely be back to this school as they are truly unique and care for all their students. There are no better place in Indonesia to learn free diving or enhance your shills. read less

Am amazed by the level of expertise this school maintains and how they cater to the specific needs of every participant. my instructor was Artur who was extremely professional yet personal troughout the course and he really focussed on the parts I needed training in. I'd actually done this certification before at a world renowned school in Central America but I decided to do it again as I have issues with equalisation. I got so much more out of this course taught by our amazing instructor Heiko. We got two full days of training in which we covered so much including 4 practical sessions, 2 in the pool and 2 in the open water. I loved getting to practice things I was never shown on my first course, like a static breath hold and an introduction to the dynamic discipline. Heiko was extremely knowledgable, patient and supportive. I really felt like we each got such a tailored training. He treated us each as individuals and adjusted the training to our needs and abilities. It really helped us get the most out of every dive and have the best experience. The 2 day level 1 course was professionally run throughout. The whole thing was very relaxed, interesting and lots of fun. Having done 2 other courses with different associations, I was very happy with the way the whole thing was run. I felt as though I learnt more with SSI than with the previous courses.

Having a dedicated freediving school with comfortable theory area and pool for statics made for a more relaxed experience. Artur (freediving instructor) was exceptional - always happy, informative, knowledgeble and approachable throughout. I never felt rushed or pressured.

The diving was just off shore from the dive school (literally across the road) which was extremely convenient. The school has changing areas, toilets, hot showers (use of clean towels), wash tanks and drying areas. The classroom was large and open sided, with access to wall posters, video footage and comfortable seating. The courses include use of their freediving equipment, so it was not actually necessary to bring your own if you don't want to travel with it.

The whole course was very enjoyable and of course.... rewarding. Thank you Artur. Looking forward to doing my level 2 with you soon(ish). read less
