Pretty rough ride to Manta Point (choppy waters!
Recommend medicating to prevent seasickness.

There are a lot of boats and a lot of people in the water. If you stay in the crowd, it's chaos! Pretty much guaranteed to get kicked in the face.

We swam away from the crowd, stayed at the edge (entrance/exit) and saw so many Manta rays!!
Guessing around 50...!!! Stopped counting after 20. 👏👏👏

Majestic, beautiful creatures.
Definitely recommend.

The waters are choppy and chilly.
So be prepared.
And enjoy the show!

I'd actually done this certification before at a world renowned school in Central America but I decided to do it again as I have issues with equalisation. I got so much more out of this course taught by our amazing instructor Heiko. We got two full days of training in which we covered so much including 4 practical sessions, 2 in the pool and 2 in the open water. I loved getting to practice things I was never shown on my first course, like a static breath hold and an introduction to the dynamic discipline. Heiko was extremely knowledgable, patient and supportive. I really felt like we each got such a tailored training. He treated us each as individuals and adjusted the training to our needs and abilities. It really helped us get the most out of every dive and have the best experience. It was such a great experience with 4 open water sessions included. The water is crystal clear with visibility around 30m. Plenty of fish and coral to see in the snorkel sessions at the end of the day. Emily is a really helpful instructor who gave plenty of constructive feedback during all of the course. She is also very friendly and approachable.
I Can’t recommend this freediving school highly enough and would love to come back to do further courses in the future.

The instructors really want you to be successful and give a lot of helpful advice that I wasn’t able to get in on own. I definitely will be returning to Freedive Nusa when back on Nusa Penida to continue to improve my technique read less

It was a great experience. My instructor Kiril clearly has extensive experience in both the practice and teaching of free diving. While teaching the basics, Kiril gave me deep appreciation of how my practices of yoga and meditation can converge in helping my body and mind to be calm, relaxed, and agile in free diving. I always felt very safe and well guided, despite of variable weather and water conditions throughout the course exercises in the ocean. The 2 day level 1 course was professionally run throughout. The whole thing was very relaxed, interesting and lots of fun. Having done 2 other courses with different associations, I was very happy with the way the whole thing was run. I felt as though I learnt more with SSI than with the previous courses.

Having a dedicated freediving school with comfortable theory area and pool for statics made for a more relaxed experience. Artur (freediving instructor) was exceptional - always happy, informative, knowledgeble and approachable throughout. I never felt rushed or pressured.

The diving was just off shore from the dive school (literally across the road) which was extremely convenient. The school has changing areas, toilets, hot showers (use of clean towels), wash tanks and drying areas. The classroom was large and open sided, with access to wall posters, video footage and comfortable seating. The courses include use of their freediving equipment, so it was not actually necessary to bring your own if you don't want to travel with it.

The whole course was very enjoyable and of course.... rewarding. Thank you Artur. Looking forward to doing my level 2 with you soon(ish). read less

I want to thank for the bottom of my heart All the team FreediveNusa for the amazing experience and knowledge I received.
I spend almost 3 weeks to complete the funniest, intense and craziest Instructor course ever! I had the chance to do it with Kirill :) and I had 2 others unforgettable buddies ( Lin and Vera).

We start as colleague and we finished the course as a family ! Thank you for everything !

Location: The set up at Freedive Nusa is just perfect. Open rooms, clean equipments, swimming pool. The location is excellent for all the lazy person like me, just across the road from the sea (less than 1min).
Hotel and restaurant: nearby (in 4 minutes you are at Penida Colada the best spot ever to eat and read your course)
Course: Instructor extremely professional and knowledgeable about Freediving. Theory and practice are done in a logical manner. The teaching ambiance is just Unique !
Bonus: After each Open-water session, you have the chance to end the session with time to dive on the house reef which is just magical. I see 2 turtle and incredible marine life there. The color are beautiful.

BONUS2: They organize TRIPS around Bali at Raj Ampat, Komodo and more !
