Our freediving school is created by passionate freedivers for all ocean lovers. We love to share our knowledge and experience by teaching people how to hold their breath and how to be free under the water
Our advantages and facilities
Explore the fantastic Nusa Penida island and amazing underwater world with team of proffessionals
Our team
We are a team of experienced freedive instructors, who will lead you to the world of freediving. We use only light and gentle approach for our students so it will be a pleasurable experience for everyone.
Conditions for freediving
Conditions for freediving are perfect here: visibility stays on the high level all year round, water temperature is around 27-29 C. We can dive from the shore or take a boat to reach farther sites.
Unique underwater life
Spectacular coral reefs with millions of fish just in front of the school. There is plenty of interesting dive sites around the island and possibility to dive with giant Manta Rays and Mola-Mola Fish.
Incredible nature of the island
Beautiful beaches between high rock cliffs, stunning rocky breakages with unforgettable landscapes, underground temple, real tropical forest, waterfalls, etc.
Perfect facilities
The school provides all the facilities needed for efficient and comfortable training: freediving equipment, classrooms, yoga studio, pools for static and dynamic training, own dive boats, gym, etc.
The most convenient location
Our school is located just 20 meters from the shore, not far from several hotels and cafes that serve tasty and healthy food. Traditional markets with fresh veggies and fruits are 5-10 minutes away by motorbike.

The whole thing was very relaxed, interesting and lots of fun. Having done 2 other courses with different associations, I was very happy with the way the whole thing was run. I felt as though I learnt more with SSI than with the previous courses.
Having a dedicated freediving school with comfortable theory area and pool for statics made for a more relaxed experience. Artur (freediving instructor) was exceptional - always happy, informative, knowledgeble and approachable throughout. I never felt rushed or pressured.
The diving was just off shore from the dive school (literally across the road) which was extremely convenient. The school has changing areas, toilets, hot showers (use of clean towels), wash tanks and drying areas. The classroom was large and open sided, with access to wall posters, video footage and comfortable seating. The courses include use of their freediving equipment, so it was not actually necessary to bring your own if you don't want to travel with it.
The whole course was very enjoyable and of course.... rewarding. Thank you Artur. Looking forward to doing my level 2 with you soon(ish). read lessAndreas Mehlmann9/28/2017 - FacebookEinfach Klasse!

Our instructor, Heiko, and Arthur (who joined to help in some of the ocean sessions) knew their stuff and upheld the highest of standards throughout. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my son in their hands. Heiko taught us the ins and outs of freediving and balanced it with a lot of practical sessions in the ocean (that was right across the street).
Nusa Penida’s tourism has only recently picked up and consequently it has that perfect balance of just the right amount of infrastructure (restaurants, hotels/homestays, scooter rentals, etc) without all the unfortunate destruction that tourism often brings. We saw some of the most beautiful, untouched coral reefs that I’ve seen around the world.
I highly recommend anyone that’s comfortable in the water to take a couple of days to take “the next step in”, or at least join them on a day trip. Highly professional and student-oriented instructor's work. Ecologically responsible organization that empowers the cleaning initiative "Trash heroe" and makes this idea popular among the locals. Enjoyed. I've been in Nusa few times, and I am happy that finally there is such a special a freediving school there. And good luck for everyone who will have the chance to meet the manta-rays! read less

Open water sessions were done safely and under direct supervision. Groups are small so that you get 1-to-1 time with instructors. Good quality equiptment. The actual school is soooo nice and super chilled (with cute resident dog and gato).
My first course went so well that I ended up extending my stay in Nusa so I could do SSI 2. After a week i managed to go down 30m depth (PB), improved my technique (started out with lots of bad self-taught habits) and finished off feeling way more confident.
I cant recommend these guys enough! I saw first hand how Emily and Artur trained and introduced people to freediving. Divers that had completed courses but had never been taught how to equalize - Emily took the time to find different ways to teach them.
Manta trip and the batcave was a highlight. They always try to end sessions with snorkeling on the reef.
Would love to come back and train here again. They have the perfect setup in Penida. All the locals love them as well.
Thanks team!! read less - Franzi Nina4/06/2019 - Facebook

Our instructor Arthur is a really cool, young guy. All of the freediving instructors are also yoga instructors and seem friendly. The facilities are nice - even tho the pool was under construction which would’ve been nice to mention beforehand.
The course was super interesting you learn about relaxation and breathing techniques as well as safety rules. Nusa is a really nice island by the way - we were a little bit unlucky because since we came in rainy season there was a lot of plastic swimming around (which is obviously not the companies fault) but otherwise it’s a nice place to learn freediving.
In general my freediving course was more difficult than for example my scuba diving course - while failing your scuba diving course is not really common failing your freediving course can happen so you might want to plan 1 day extra just in case you don’t pass in the 2 days of training (happend to a woman in our group).
We also attended a manta Ray trip the day after and I really recommend it. We saw many mantas and they came so close, I had to move out of the way because I didn’t want to touch them. A really unique experience! The group was cool - a mix between real professionals and total newbies.

It was an absolutely amazing trip and I highly recommend booking with Freedive Nusa. Kirill and Hamza are very caring guides and we were taken good care of at all times.
If you want to visit Raja Ampat you should chose Freedive Nusa - you will not be disappointed. Everything you need is provided for and their service and equipment is of high standard.
Freediving in Raja Ampat is an amazing and relaxing way to discover the reefs around the islands. No matter what level - you can also be new to it. Be prepared for the most beautiful reefs and marine life you'll ever see.
Will try to do my next freedive course with Freedive Nusa and am already excited.
Thank you for everything

I did Level 1 and I had so much fun. Was my first time ever doing freedive. I was super nervous because i have no idea about freedive. But the teaching by Kirill, the owner and instructor, was informative, engaging and fun. I think the most important thing is that all of the sessions with him in the water was super safe and professional. I feel ready and safe 100% all the time when we practice together in the deep ocean (even with Nusa Penida infamous strong current) since day 1. Absolutely no pressure to go deep or make me do anything i'm not ready for. At the same time, my abilities were gently extended and I definitely grew more confidence in the water than before. So go to Nusa Penida and do the freedive course with them! Easy access from Bali island, it is your best option other than taking any freedive course in Gili nor Amed. The island itself is simply chillax, not super touristy like other destinations. Highly recommended! Find out what freediving is all about with Kirill - Freedive Nusa. You won't regret it.
Ps: i booked it via their Instagram @freedivenusa, quick response and super easy to book.
Cheers,

YES! Freediving is a very safe sport if it is practiced correctly. It is a natural activity, and the human body is very well capable of breath-holding and diving underwater. Taking an officially recognized freediving course will only make you a safer and a more confident freediver.
Accidents happen because of lack of proper training and education. Beware of bogus freediving coaches. Ask questions about their certification so that you will know that you are in safe with them.
We have a team of instructors and start courses nearly every day. Just send us a message and choose dates the most convenient for you.
