It was an unbelievable experience I think about everyday. Kirill was an inspiring teacher, his teaching methods, calm, safe and poised personality and the fact that he really loves freediving made learning freediving easy and so fun.
My experience at Freedive Nusa has opened a door to a deeper love and appreciation of the ocean and our connection to it. Extending beyond freediving to pranayama, more confidence in my surfing, yoga and power of the mind. This course is for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and the human body. All of the freediving instructors are also yoga instructors and seem friendly. The facilities are nice - even tho the pool was under construction which would’ve been nice to mention beforehand.
The course was super interesting you learn about relaxation and breathing techniques as well as safety rules. Nusa is a really nice island by the way - we were a little bit unlucky because since we came in rainy season there was a lot of plastic swimming around (which is obviously not the companies fault) but otherwise it’s a nice place to learn freediving.
In general my freediving course was more difficult than for example my scuba diving course - while failing your scuba diving course is not really common failing your freediving course can happen so you might want to plan 1 day extra just in case you don’t pass in the 2 days of training (happend to a woman in our group).
We also attended a manta Ray trip the day after and I really recommend it. We saw many mantas and they came so close, I had to move out of the way because I didn’t want to touch them. A really unique experience! The group was cool - a mix between real professionals and total newbies.
All in all we really enjoyed our time there and recommend the place :) read less - Frederiksn29/28/2022 - TripAdvisor

They gave fast response whether it was through Instagram or through their email.
The course itself is a bit challenging for me who understand from begin that I have a bit of equalization problem and a fear to hold breath longer. However, Artur was a kind and patient instructor. His explanation is clear, helpful, and reassuring. Not to mention his state of calmness that made me feel at ease while in the same time also excited to try whatever he asked me to do. He didn’t push me to force myself, yet very persuasive in convincing that all will be well, and all I need to do is just relax, enjoy, and be natural in the water. Which I find to be a more effective method to get me to improve.
The school itself is located strategically, close to a few good restaurants and homestays to relax during your break. It is also a beautiful location; 30 seconds walk to the beach with beautiful snorkeling just a short swim away. The school provides well-maintained good-quality free diving equipment and a cozy setting to support the learning environment. All Freedivenusa instructors are highly experienced and professional who would make you feel that you are in good hands.
All in all, I felt very safe and well-taken care of by the school, and by Artur specifically as my instructor. The course has helped me gain confidence to push myself out of my fear in going deeper in to the deep blue by free diving. I’m totally hooked! And will keep the practice.
So, if you are thinking to do free diving in Indonesia, I highly recommend coming to Nusa Penida and do it with Freedivenusa! read lessNatalia Kalina2/07/2020 - FacebookTotally loved my time at this school❤️. It was simply stunning. Probably THE best week I had in a long time!
Kirill and Jan are both amazing instructors and I easily learned how to equalize better and really enjoyed the line training we had in the mornings of the first days! Started to really love freediving and will definitely do my certification while I am in Indonesia
We started the days with meditation/yoga and breathing exercises - many thanks to Kirill for that!
Everything was well organized and planned: from flights and hotels/homestays, special food requests and healthy breakfast options to day trips and fun diving adventures! Thank you Jan for all your magic you did in the background!
And the underwater world of Raja Ampat is simply stunning - often you could just dive off the beach/jetty of your homestay and see beautiful coral and so many fish. At one homestay we had sharks swimming by the common area my favorite was definitely seeing a Manta for the first time in my life at a dive site called Manta Sandy and thrifting along the stunning Cape Kri.
All in all, thanks to the beautiful nature, the great training and other inspiring guests it was definitely a week I will remember! read lessRamiLovesScuba11/17/2022 - TripAdvisorLife-changing experience I heard of Free Dive Nusa by word of mouth when I was in Bali. The shop gave me a great rate for a private course with Yana and the experience exceeded all of my expectations. She was able to quickly determine my knowledge and skill level and tailored my education to maximize learning. She was able to break down very complicated subjects (physiology, Frenzel, etc) in an easy-to-understand way. She seemed to know my limits better than I knew myself - she (safely) pushed me both in the pool and open water sessions to new PRs. I loved the breathing exercises and yoga before the water sessions; I felt totally relaxed and ready to perform at my best. Although I worked specifically with Yana, I observed several of the other instructors and they were all clearly passionate about freediving and took very good care of their students. Absolutely loved using the freediving skills I just learned to snorkel the reef after our sessions. Overall, I left the class not only with new skills but a new outlook on how to enjoy the ocean. Most importantly, I always felt safe which is a big mental barrier for novices like myself. The shop was professional and perfectly located. Highly recommend the offered photo session at the end of the class - I loved the photos! Not that numbers matter but I was able to comfortably reach 20m by the end of the class which was a personal goal I had set. read less

YES! Freediving is a very safe sport if it is practiced correctly. It is a natural activity, and the human body is very well capable of breath-holding and diving underwater. Taking an officially recognized freediving course will only make you a safer and a more confident freediver.
Accidents happen because of lack of proper training and education. Beware of bogus freediving coaches. Ask questions about their certification so that you will know that you are in safe with them.
We have a team of instructors and start courses nearly every day. Just send us a message and choose dates the most convenient for you.
