The Molchanovs Freediving Education System is the most modern and comprehensive freediving system to date. The Molchanovs Freediving Education will teach you freediving, from the basics of breath-hold and water skills through to an elite competition freediver. There are four open water course levels, each of which is known as a Wave. All levels are also available as Lap courses. Lap courses cover the same theory and pool requirements as the corresponding Wave course but do not include open water depth sessions.
Once you have completed a Wave / Lap course, you can continue your training and track your progress by joining Base Training. This global freediving community is founded on the philosophy and strategies of Natalia Molchanova and is a platform to share knowledge, skills, and experiences with other freedivers. Training programs for freedivers of all levels are published on a weekly basis, to help you progress through your learning and develop your freediving skills. This system is designed by the best in the freediving world, not just to make the best freedivers, but also to make the strongest community.

Are you a Molchanovs Lap or Wave 2 Instructor with a passion for teaching freediving to children? Do you want to inspire a love for freediving in the younger generation?
If so, it’s time to become a Molchanovs Junior Freediving Instructor and help shape the future of freedivers! As a Junior Instructor, you’ll have the opportunity to teach kids as young as 4 years old various swimming techniques, pool freediving disciplines, and depth freediving, both in formal courses and during training sessions after the courses have concluded.
The Junior Freediving Education Program consists of three age groups, featuring Discover, Lap, and Wave Сourses: 4 – 7 years, 8 – 11 years, 12 – 15 years.
Unlike the adult freediving courses, the content of the Junior Lap and Junior Wave courses is entirely separate — a Junior Wave course does not cover the pool material from the Junior Lap course.
To become a certified Molchanovs Junior Instructor, a freediver must successfully fulfill all requirements according to teaching assessments, performance requirements, and exams.
How can I freedive if I can not hold my breath for too long?
This is one of the popular doubts for beginners but it appears only due unknowing.
During your basic freediving course you will learn proper breathing and relaxation techniques.
Almost all the students reach breath-hold times of well over 2 minutes without any problems during the first lesson!
What the difference between Molchanovs and SSI courses?
The basics and structure of the courses are the same. The main difference in the duration of the courses, learning materials, and some skills. The materials in Molchanovs are newer and more comprehensive. Also to complete the course and to be certified you have to reach higher requirements.
I never did a course before but I have some experience. Can I start with the Wave 2 course?
If you never did a course before it is highly recommended that you start with the Wave 1. There is a lot of information vital for your progression and for your safety. And there are many topics which won't be taught a second time on the next courses, such as proper breathing for freediving, breathing for relaxation, how to do a proper and safe breathe-up, plus safety and rescue from blackout, proper fining and streamlining, etc.
You should know all the basics and should be able to dive at least up to 15-20 meters confidentially and smoothly to be able to join Wave 2 course.
